Mark Gabbertas set up his design studio in 1992 after a two-year cabinet making apprenticeship with Stemmer & Sharp Design and Codrington Furniture. Previously he spent 8 years in the Advertising industry.

The objective of the practice is to produce innovative and elegant designs that owe nothing to the vagaries of fashion. The work is intended to stand the test of time and retain its freshness through an understanding of proportion, materials and production techniques. The practice has won various awards and competitions, although the list for which it has been shortlisted is probably longer.

This site contains work designed for mass-production for a number of leading international furniture companies, as well as commissions for both the private and public sector.
